Educating tomorrow’s leaders today is a lofty VISION for any school. Yet, it is what we ACHIEVE at Greenville Technical Charter High School.

Through its strong ties to Greenville Technical College, and the Upstate business community, Greenville Technical Charter High School has demonstrated the ability to give students a solid academic foundation on which to build future successes.

Our educational approach makes the DIFFERENCE for our students:

MASTERY LEARNING- achieving at least 80% competency in all courses, and mandatory tutoring if this level is not maintained.

INDIVIDUALZED PLANS- developing yearly plans that are career-focused and set measurable academic goals.

DUAL CREDIT COURSES- the option to attend GTC classes at no cost, earning college credits, and even degrees, along with a high school diploma.

COMMUNITY SERVICE- giving back to the community by performing at least 50 hours of service each year.

Located on the campus of Greenville Technical College, Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS) opened in 1998 to provide underserved high school students with increased access to college.  As a member of the Middle College National Consortium, a school practitioner network of small schools located on college campuses, GTCHS is one of more than 200 schools nationwide involved in the Early College Initiative aimed at helping students earn both a high school diploma and transferable college credits upon graduating from high school.

What is best about GTCHS?

"Although it was a lot of work, being able to take college courses for transfer credit was the best part of my experience."

"Being able to take a lot of college classes and having great experiences with my peers and teachers at both college and high school."

"Being accepted by everybody from day one. The teachers are so willing to help students achieve their goals. The students are caring and we all get along."

"The best experience I have had at GTCHS was the feeling that the school is a big family. Because it is a small school, everyone gets to know each other. We, as the students, help and support each other when it is needed. I feel like everyone in this school is a friend of mine and that all the teachers really know me and care about how I do in school."
